I had this exact problem except I was on the other side. Growing up I was very independent so when I met my gf she felt sad that I never came to her or needed anything from her and I’m telling you over time (not days not weeks not even months but definitely years) that dynamic will shift

Yeah you’re overthinking. You’re just like me fr. When I first stared dating my boyfriend and we had small issues like that, I was always doom spiraling about what would happen when we talked about it. The truth is, it’s much less scary and much less warped irl.

You can text him and be like “hey something’s been bothering me lately. Wanna come over and talk?” Keep it light over text though. A guy might shut down or panic if you’re like “WE NEED TO TALK”. You could follow it up with something reassuring to make it seem less intense.

i guess that makes sense. i do want to see if changes can be made in the short term, even if there has to be a lot of structure and intention behind it. thanks for the insight though
