get yourself one of these bad boys I’ve never had issues cleaning it

I’ve got one that comes with a little hard plastic comb thing that fits into all of the holes and gets all the garlic out

You can always go the stoner route and put water and dish soap in like a larger ziplock baggy toss the garlic press and shake like I would to get bud out of my grinder and pieces

alternatively sometimes I just do it with a knife for convenience if it doesn’t have to be finely ground — crush it with the flat of the blade and chop it up
