Bought liver for the first time cause cheap ass protein and apparently it’s stupid healthy, what should I expect as far as the taste go? I’m soaking it in milk cause I heard you’re supposed to.

Also I’ve washed my hands like three times and they still reek of iron

It’s not really the tastiest organ, people usually mince it and mix it into ground beef. Fried Chicken livers though aren’t bad and should still have a lot of the health benefits

Also if your looking for cheap quality protein stews and flank steak are my go to. Mainly chuck roast or beef shank for the stews and they are minimal effort to meal prep

Also have you heard about the Rosenthal meat center? They have all sorts of cuts of meats and 10$ strips steaks!

Yeah they’ll be like that for a day or two I normally use gloves when handling organ meat just because the smell of the meat will stick to your hands

Yeah I made a follow up post - it tastes vaguely earthy to me, kind of a bore to sit through. I was excited cause I’ve really liked the other organs I’ve tried since I began eating meat but they can’t all be winners I guess.

Ive got this killer tuna salad sandwhich recipe you could try! Also if you buy whole chickens you get a lot more meat for less of a price when you break them down (2 breast, 2 chicken quarters, wings, back strap if your patient) and you can use the carcass for home made chicken stock. A crock pot is ideal since you can just let it sit without watching it since with stock it’s the longer the better!
