please please please just do your mise en place and prep and your life will be so much better and if you don't already, cycle your damn dishes BEFORE you start cooking so you can clean as you go!!!

even if a recipe doesn't have prep/mise en place instructions, you can still do it!! if it's your first time making a recipe, do all the prep you can before turning on any burners. measure out spices, prep all your veggies, have utensils ready to go and a plate to leave them on to keep the counters clear, get oven mitts/cooling trays/heat mats out in advance, etc

if you have a dishwasher, then make sure it's empty BEFORE u start cooking... that way dishes from cooking and after cooking can get rinsed and go straight in. like if ur making scrambled eggs, you want to be able to rinse the bowl and put it straight in the dishwasher.

if u don't, then u want to wash all ur dishes and empty ur drying rack beforehand.... the more efficiently u can clean as you go while u cook, the less cleaning u have to do after, the cleaner everything stays, and overall the easier ur life is
