Going back to college as a 22 year old is like the worst thing ever. I knew I would have to go back to get a better career but I wont have any friends and will be so lonely šŸ˜ not to mention graduating at 26 while everyone else my age already has a career

Do community college if you can, I feel like they will be more respectful in the beginning

At least you can mask as like a 19yo. I moved to a new city and go to the local college events occasionally (I’m there rn 🤣) and pretend to be in college even though I’m 22 with a career. At least you’re building something real though being in college

I went when I was 25. It definetly did suck in some ways, but it’s still easy to make friends. The professors always very clearly take the older students more seriously and respect them more, so that was nice. Also girls gave me more attention. The 18 year old kid problem isn’t as bad in upper level classes

I'll be like 26 by the time I graduate too. It's so fucking grim. I want to just lie about my age. I'm so insecure about it

They definitely are into older girls, almost any guy actually. You’re 22 though so I’m sure you’re aware that the maturity gap between 18-22 is massive, so it’s you who probably doesn’t want them lol

Lowkey I’m still learning but I have the benefit of also being in the Miami area so I usually just go to all ages stuff, but what helps is finding out all of your local colleges instagrams and following them since they’ll post when events are happening and they don’t say it but most of the time you don’t have to be a student to go, they just expect that only students will go

I mean you can work at a restaurant and go to school? Plus I told the people at those clubs that I’m not a student, they didn’t seem to care. They were just glad to have another participant

You’ll be fine. My advice is definetly to find people who have similar interests. Lots of people make their friends in the dorm. You can’t do that, so you will have to go out of your way a bit. I find my friends by competing in something I was good at that had a uni tournament. So you can go to an event or soemthing that is aligned with what you like. Also roommates if you’re off campus.. just find ones you like lol

Dude I was exactly the same way. I am extremely introverted (but good socially when I have to), so it was hard in that way. Finding people of similar interests is definetly the best way. Do you have any hobbies you really like?

Honestly not much cuz I'm depressed af but like anything art or anime I enjoy. But lowkey I might just fake enjoying something lmao

I also worked at a restaurant in uni as a waiter so I know you’re probably socially drained after a shift. Why not just art and anime? You can easily find other girls into that I think. One thing you can do is if you ever talk to someone in class, just casually mention it, and it could light a spark. In life I’ve found that people I really get along with -naturally- also tend to have similar interests.

Tbf we’ve done a lot of growing together but the biggest aspect of maturity imo is being able to communicate and fix whatever immature traits you still have, which I fear is very rare 🫩

Unrelated to that but I do wanna reassure you by saying most people don’t honestly know the difference between 20 and 25 on looks alone, especially for women. I’m 24 and people I meet are still surprised and think I’m much younger. I think I look my age but in your 20s not a lot changes looks wise
