Why isn’t there a size between medium and large; a large fits my thighs and a medium fits my waist. What is this shit??!!

I am but I assume it would happen to guys as well but yall at least get waist and inseam length. We get s, m, l, xl, etc. or 2, 4, 6, 8, etc. or 1, 3, 5, 7 etc.
