Because finding a job is actually really consequential by comparison. You can submit work late or retake a class, there’s zero leniency with rent and bills

Also at least you were pretty much guaranteed classes in college. Jobs are so far and few between in basically every area nowadays :/ like I hate my job but I’m gonna stay because it’s better than being back on the search and unemployed for months
