Why can’t refugees facing actual persecution have a safe place in the United States? We refused Jewish refugees during the 1930s-40s and most of them were murdered in camps

I think American tax dollars should benefit actual Americans before we start trying to save the entire world. And we’ve taken in 5k refugees this year alone, so it’s not as if we’re taking none.

Then that’s fine. It’s much better than what we did in the past. We weren’t talking improvements we were talking generally speaking. And I’m not saying we should save the whole world. He told me empathy does not have a place in politics.

Empathy in people is a great quality. But empathy towards foreigners as a government policy to the detriment of actual American citizens is both dangerous, costly and destructive. You want empathy seek the church or any number of civic organizations based on helping refugees.

We do. Pound for pound we’ve probably taken in more refugees than any other 1st world country. But you have to draw the line somewhere and as a guiding government principle we need to refocus to our native population and help Americans first.

And also I don’t work in politics I work in preserving artifacts for histories sake and if I can I plan on doing it for Holocaust focused organizations

I think that’s very Nobel and you sound very kind. I just think your passion for helping people can come off very strong especially when it’s unprompted. That may have been the issue with the other gentleman
