A Republican ghosted me because I was having an intellectual conversation with him over a political point bitch I like debating politics with my men if you can’t hold to your own and get butt hurt at my answer. You can’t date me
Why can’t refugees facing actual persecution have a safe place in the United States? We refused Jewish refugees during the 1930s-40s and most of them were murdered in camps

Or ghettos and organized killing outside of both

AnonymousOP4w
Or wait the people that committed suicide because they’d rather face death at their own hands rather then getting tortured/beat/murdered by the SS or Gestapo?

I’m not saying you’re a bad person but you come on really strong.
You’re so passionate you made 5 comments about refugees that was totally shoehorned in lol

Although to your point, There are other counties in the world who can take in refugees other than the United States.

It doesn’t matter we should still help

I think American tax dollars should benefit actual Americans before we start trying to save the entire world. And we’ve taken in 5k refugees this year alone, so it’s not as if we’re taking none.

Then that’s fine. It’s much better than what we did in the past. We weren’t talking improvements we were talking generally speaking. And I’m not saying we should save the whole world. He told me empathy does not have a place in politics.

Empathy in people is a great quality. But empathy towards foreigners as a government policy to the detriment of actual American citizens is both dangerous, costly and destructive.
You want empathy seek the church or any number of civic organizations based on helping refugees.

You’re acting like I want all illegals to be in the United States I don’t

AnonymousOP4w
I’m saying we should aide refugees who are escaping genocide not all of them but a select few as we have
1
AnonymousOP4w
I don’t need things to change
1
AnonymousOP4w
We do. Pound for pound we’ve probably taken in more refugees than any other 1st world country. But you have to draw the line somewhere and as a guiding government principle we need to refocus to our native population and help Americans first.

And also I don’t work in politics I work in preserving artifacts for histories sake and if I can I plan on doing it for Holocaust focused organizations

Anonymous#24w
I think focusing on the native population is also important. I agree with you there

I think that’s very Nobel and you sound very kind. I just think your passion for helping people can come off very strong especially when it’s unprompted. That may have been the issue with the other gentleman

Girl it wasn’t unprompted we were discussing the crisis of illegal immigration. We were right on the topic.
