Obviously you’re only dating her for her body and not who she is as a person. People change, habits change, mental health changes. I genuinely hope she dumps you for complaining about something so trivial. Please heal your mindset before trying to get into a serious relationship again

I would genuinely cry if my boyfriend ever said this about me. I’d love him and find him attractive if he was chubby. This is how people get EDs

That’s a good thing. Love gut happens sometimes when she feels secure and happy in the relationship. You need to get better perspective.

Maybe just offer the gym sometimes because that sounds like a big commitment to do it everyday immediately and go on 5k runs

Nahh op break up with her

It’s a phase. She will gain a ton of weight then complain about not being able to lose it. She’ll be a bit large by the time she realizes it makes you feel like shit

I asked if she’d like to start going on runs with me and to the gym with me. I run a 5k a everyday and go to the gym every day and she said no

This^ like she could be struggling so motivate her with kindness and compassion. Start with her mind and then suggest working out together

Exactly, she could be going through more than she lets on. She’s probably not comfortable sharing if this is how he talks about her online!

No I mean her body being large will make her feel like shit. Doesn’t matter what the guy thinks

those are likely not her preferred forms of exercise. if you’re looking to encourage her, you may want to try and figure out what activities she would be interested in. she might be more receptive to walking, hiking, biking, roller blading, swimming, dancing, jumping on a trampoline, playing basketball, kayaking or anything else you can think of. cause running a 5k and going to the gym lowkey sounds torturous to me💀 you should explore new activities w her and make it fun

Anonymous replying to -> #14 16h

also remember exercise should be about overall health and wellness, not appearance. if she suddenly became less active and had a rapid weight gain, i understand being concerned for her physical and mental health. if it’s strictly an appearance thing for you, then you prob don’t love her as much as you think

It’s 100% normal, I think you’re just into women who starve themselves tbh

It’s not shallow to want to find your partner physically attractive.

It’s shallow to complain about normal body changes. You’re just proving to us more and more than you’re not a good partner

Am I not allowed to be worried about her health?

upvote -4 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 15h

Have you talked to her about her health? Looked at her numbers on a blood test?

upvote 5 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 15h

If you lost attraction due to a little gained weight, I’d argue it is extremely shallow. She’s your PARTNER. This is life, bodies are going to change. Humans gain weight, lose weight, sag, etc. throughout the course of our lives. This is just the way life works. Get used to it and grow up.

upvote 8 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 15h

If all her blood tests come back normal then what’s the problem? Your definition of healthy may not be someone else’s definition of healthy

Anonymous replying to -> #6 15h

I think humans only get fat if you stop taking care of yourself.

upvote 18 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #8 15h

Well the average human’s metabolism remains pretty stable from 20 to 60.

upvote -2 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 15h

You may think that’s true, but it’s not. I’d love for it to be that easy. Things like hormone issues and environmental stressors can cause unusual weight gain, not necessarily personal inaction. If you’re genuinely worried about her health, I’d suggest doing some research and providing her empathy through this. Encourage her to get a blood test to check her levels, if you’re that worried.

I gave you an article and a study proving that from 20 to 60 it actually doesn’t. So like what now?

Anonymous replying to -> OP 15h

You’re responding to the wrong person, I have no clue about metabolism tbh, I have to do more research! But there’s a lot of reasons why weight gain/loss can happen though. Hormonal issues, stress, mental health issues, life changes, etc. If you’re really that concerned, go with her to get her blood checked. But I have a feeling that this is more about your attraction to her than actually being concerned about her health, seeing as you’re continuing to argue instead of being empathetic to ur gf.
