This is so harmful and people don’t seem to grasp this. I myself am in a career field where empathy is REQUIRED. To pigeon-hole all men like this is infuriating
I don't believe men ever develop a sense of empathy

It’s also harmful because it would discourage actually empathetic men or men who want to be better from being empathetic. Like a “If people don’t think I can be empathetic then why should I bother?” sort of thing. Empathy should be encouraged, not dismissed

Completely agree! And if nothing else, this also shows that women might not want an empathetic man if we physically can’t be.

Yes, that too! It lowers the standards for everyone when empathy should be the baseline for all people

That’s the craziest part is it’s not that hard to have empathy

Agreed! It’s not hard, but some people just don’t want to try. And some were also trained out of it, especially considering some of the toxic ways we raise male children. The world could be a better place if we encouraged and practiced empathy more often

Couldn’t agree more. Men arent taught that and it’s not our fault but yet some of us just have it anyway. Case and point. But the other issue is it’s not cared about. Friends, men and women alike, take advantage of the empathy
