Being a vet tech is hard. I remember each and every baby I’ve had to help cross the rainbow bridge. If your baby was ever in my care for that reason, please know they all got kisses, extra hugs and pets. I loved each and every baby I cared for. 🐶 🐱 🐭

Besides helping pets cross the rainbow, would you say the other aspects of being a vet tech is difficult

Another issue is watching patients suffer because owners cannot afford care. Prices are outrageous for care because unfortunately it is a ‘business’ corporate tells you you’re not allowed to operate, you’re not allowed. It can break you especially when your morals are torn to shreds over money, which is not why I went into the job.

But you can also watch animals go from almost complete death to their happy selves again. Watch owners reunite and with pets and tail wags. Hear puppies first cries after a hospital birth. Some animals remember you after you bring them back from the brink of death and will show how grateful they are. Lots of kisses and excited jumps for routine health visits after their emergencies. It’s hard. It can break you some days. But others you can see the difference you’ve made and it’s all worth it

How did you get into it? I don’t have any prior experience related to being a vet technician but I’m interested in learning and becoming one, did you just apply to be one directly? Or did you work up to it
