Guys am I a THIEF??? I’m serving, I’ve had 3 tables pay cash today. The third was a table of 7, super nice people. I give them their check (in a thank you book) and they start handing money around the table. I take the thank you book n set it by my purse-

Then two guys go to the bathroom and the rest of the people leave. I start picking up some of their table, go back and check just to make sure they paid the full amount (just to be safe) and they essentially stiffed me. Rounded up the dollar. What the hell?! I thought u guys were chill!!! I tell my manager she’s like that’s some BS whatever I was so nice to them we were vibing (also these are clearly some fairly well off people, they def had money to tip)

So I’m like: I’m gonna ask them what I did wrong. The guys come out from the BR and I’m like “hey I don’t normally do this but did I do something wrong?” And they were like “No hon what do you mean!” And I was like “there wasn’t a tip” and the guy was like “there should be over $80 in there? I put 4 twenties” and I was like ummmm and I went over to the thank you book and showed him it was only 73 dollars (his total was 72.02). He’s like that’s wild!! I’m sorry yadda yadda he gives me a 20 and-

I’m like “thank you omg like sorry I wasn’t trying to be mean or anything I just thought u guys were cool and I wasn’t expecting it etc” and he was like “you’re fine that’s so weird” and so I go back to my table after a minute and I realized I accidentally grabbed the thank you book that had the combined cash from the two tables before, NOT the one that he gave me. (I keep all of my cash and reciepts in the same thank you book to keep everything in order, it didn’t have any reciept just cash-

that perfectly happened to have their total but rounded up the dollar.) The guy already left though, I feel SO bad!!! Like I was being so stupid omg!!! I checked his actual thank you book and he did have the right change for a 20% tip too. And I made it like a 40% tip😭😭😭😭
