Hot take: I don’t have any problems with queer people but I hate that queer-people-culture has made it so that any two friends of the same gender identity now get romanticized. It’s never just ‘two girls were best friends and grew up together,’ anymore

Well have you ever heard the phrase “a guy and a girl can’t just be friends”

This is exactly how I feel about straight culture 😭 and how it's embedded in everyone's minds that all men want to bang any and all of their female friends and that's just how it is I feel like a lot of men wouldn't feel a type of way towards their female friends if this myth wasn't so powerfully blasted through everyone's brains 😭

now imagine BEING a queer person im tired of trying to be friends with another guy and they instantly assume im trying to get into their pants bc im gay are we not allowed to have friends 😭

Literally have been accused of this with two friends. I don’t care of being accused of that, it just means we’re great friends. However this one girl kept spreading a rumor about it because she was jealous and I’ve never wanted to smack someone more. (She is a terrible person who continually cheats on her partners and put my friend through absolute hell. She also had the audacity to ask why I didn’t like her as a person).

Now its always, ‘they grew up together and didn’t realize that secretly they were romantically in love,’ even if it’s just two straight girls or two straight guys etc. just having a genuine friendship. Can we bring back friendships that don’t automatically get assumed to be romantic or sexual?🥲
