does anyone have some genuine advice on how to conquer a really bad depressive episode? I can’t afford therapy at the moment, and it’s not getting any better. I don’t know what to do. it can be blunt or simple advice on what could potentially help.

been in therapy for most of my life and one of the main things that’s helped me with depressive episodes besides medication is changing self talk it seem so simple but if you go into the your day with the mindset that everything is going to suck it’s going to suck because that’s how you’re looking at your life depression won’t just fix itself and negative thoughts and feelings won’t just go away but if you work to reframe them or unpack why they are irrational or wrong it helps moving through em

Work out, do things that you enjoy that don’t involve screens. Make a bucket list of things you want to try and do that.

I just refused to think about any negative topics, watched upbeat yt videos all day, and took solace in the fact that each night my dreams would make me feel a little better until one day I was okay

I agree with the music playlist—that’s helping me get through the day. I did quit 🍃 back in january 2025 though, and I wanna wait until I’m 21+ to look into it for recreational/potential therapeutic purposes. that’s what my dad does (he has his medical card).
