There’s darkness everywhere but there’s also light everywhere. Media portrays the worst of the worst to us - humans weren’t made for this. We are living in a new era of technology and communication where we are easily accessible and constantly exposed to news and horrific events happening all over the world.
Bad news sells more than good news, just like sex sells more than love (even though everyone loves a good love story). In my opinion, I think it is on purpose to expose us to all these horrific things - it makes us depressed and lowers our spirits exponentially, making it easier to make common everyday people fight against and hate each other. Your local, real world is not like this.
People ARE good despite what media outlets say. Your average person on the street is just trying to live their life and chase their dreams, just like you. In the face of all that is terrible in this world, there is still community and love and hope and trust. THERE IS STILL GOOD. It just isn’t talked about because it doesn’t sell as well.
Be aware of what’s going on in the world yes, but realize that our minds were not meant to be exposed to this excess of terrible events which most of the time we have no control over. You cannot let this take hold of your mind or make you forget all that is wonderful in life as well. There are good things and good people around you and life IS worth living.
