All humans are born with 2 legs, exceptions don’t invalidate the rule. All humans have 10 fingers

But they aren’t all born with two legs 🤨 and not all humans have 10 fingers 🤨 I’m confused what you’re trying to prove here

I have proven that exceptions don’t invalidate the rule, it’s not an overgeneralisation if it’s reasonable

What rule? All humans have ten fingers? I just proved they don’t, I’m still confused af what you’re trying to say

AnonymousOP18h
How did you prove it when exceptions don’t break the rule?
1
Anonymous#118h
Exceptions don’t break rules, but there is no rule stating all humans have 10 fingers. That… is a really pointless argument

AnonymousOP18h
In school you weren’t taught that there are 5 fingers on a hand? To help you count? In medical schools they don’t know how many fingers humans have?

Anonymous#118h
Dude… you are giving me such a headache here, you know 5 fingers is a result of genetics, and genes are prone to mutations, thus it is… completely possible not have 5 fingers and still be human

AnonymousOP18h
Yes, what’s known as the norm is where the rules come from. A rare genetic mutation is an abnormality, it’s not the norm. The rule is not effected

Rules don’t arise from norms, they arise from established facts. Therefore, there is no rule stating all humans have 10 fingers.
