My parents decided to retire in Asia after I graduated high school. I remember there were days when I’d worry that they’d get into a car accident and I wouldn’t hear about it because the hospital wouldn’t want to make an international call. If someone got sick, there was no way I could’ve gone to help over the weekend. It’s hard not to worry

I also live hrs away and try my best to attend birthday parties, family events, and anything bc i still wanna be present in my families life and not just come back n ever see them😭😅
