Look it up. It’s catfishing. Assault CAN happen online, but it’s unsolicited sexual advances or photos. However wrong you may think this is, it’s not assault.

I am listening to what you’re saying. And you’re correct. Two wrongs DONT make a right. Still, you’re making a comparison that you shouldn’t. Like #3 just said, SA shouldn’t be compared loosely. You’re extending its definition when it shouldn’t be extended. SA is horribly wrong. Catfishing, whether you like it or not, is not illegal in this circumstance
