there’s gotta be some kind of safe & healthy middle ground where people are free to have casual flings now and then on the path towards developing more serious relationships I feel like hookup culture wouldn’t be such a problem if people just treated each other like complete human beings rather than using each other as a means to get off

I do agree. Some people who are in fwb situations feel like they are only valuable when it’s a booty call or just a hangout + benefits. It’s like you can’t even talk with that person on mutual ground when the majority of the conversation is just sex. I guess in this scenario, the only solution is patience and building a solid a relationship. Hookups however are different because you are using that person as a product for your needs. With fwb, at least there’s communication but still.
