that id have to basically give up my bodily autonomy for 9 months and risk permanent disability or death. and even if everything went perfect i still have to go through the pain of pregnancy + birth and deal with all the changes to my body

when it’s a burden only a woman faces to bring a child into the world while a man doesn’t have to worry about it yeah ofc i’m gonna call it unfair? just bc it’s biology that doesn’t make it fair

I think the way most women get through it is because of the hormones it causes the body to release which doesn’t make it fair but does make it easier. Its the reason there are women who go through pregnancy multiple times willlingly and they (likely/hopefully) have a good support system too

idk even with that pregnancy seems miserable 😭 like there’s no guarantee i’d have an enjoyable pregnancy much less one that didn’t kill me and idk how to get over that

Yea its unfortunate, but the medical awareness around pregnancy is much better now. I think the way people get through it is that they see having a kid as a very big benefit compare to the complications that could arise

I think it also comes easier when u have a stable partner so I dont think its something to put much thought into without that

honestly even imagining having a partner doesn’t make it much better. idk how i wouldn’t resent him for not having to deal with being pregnant lol

Oh he’ll be dealing with it, as grumpy as it sounds like you’ll be. Ya know, if you don’t want to give birth, then adopt! Or do IVF and have a surrogate woman carry the fetus to term. Theres ways to work around being pregnant. But to start blasting about unfairness is hard to read. Where is it guaranteed that life will be fair? This is the way our biological system has evolved. If you don’t want to go thru it, fine.
