My sisters are mad I don’t take care of my family dog once I moved out but i literally never wanted a dog anyways. They didn’t even ask me if I wanted one just bought him on their own accord. Yes I took care of him when I lived there but now I don’t?

if you moved out and it’s not your dog…why is it your responsibility?

Their reasoning is I didn’t object AFTER they already bought him & I used to take good care of him when I lived there. Like sure I love him but we all had a convo prior to getting him & mutually agreed not to get a dog. All of a sudden I’m supposed to bear the responsibility when no one asked me if I even wanted one 😭

yeah that’s not fair on you. but ig im also confused like if you don’t live there anymore what are they wanting you to do to help take care of him??

The thing is I still walk him. But they want me to contribute financially towards him & also take him part time since I live alone & they live together. But I personally don’t think I should have to pay for him anymore (I used to when I lived there) nor do I want a dog in my own space. I’m busy af & a dog is just not my priority rn

They had 3 pets total that I helped care for & pay for any related expenses. I did it to be nice & offset the cost for them. But none of those pets are mine so naturally I stopped doing that once I moved out. & the reason I even left in the first place is bc my sister was trying to charge me $1k for a room. They’re just greedy people I swear 😭

no yeah you’re totally in the right. he’s not your dog, you shouldn’t have to take him or pay for him. walking him still is being generous
