While men tend to have a lot of bigotries, that is well known and that means a lot of men have confronted their own bigotries and are thus familiar with the concept. Whereas a lot of women (particularly straight white ones) only view themselves as the victims of bigotry, and cannot confront that they may be perpetuating bigotry (homophobia, racism, sexism, transphobia) themselves.
