It might depend on how often you go to places where it’s appropriate for guys to ask you out. Bars, parties, etc. I wouldn’t walk up to someone I don’t know out of nowhere because I would be afraid of making her uncomfortable. But in a bar or similar setting that is an appropriate environment to ask someone out.
