My mom gave my 11 year old brother a phone cuz he walks to and from school by himself, its a cheap phone and she got like parental locks on it so like she can see that he downloaded tiktok and then block it on his phone

Kids need a phone as soon as they enter middleschool especially if they have to walk/ take a bus home

My family was always saying I’d only get a phone when I was 13 and then mom gave me a flip phone at 13 and said I’d only get a real phone if I could keep it safe for a year. I was kind of annoyed by this but did appreciate having a phone and nowadays I’m glad she did that

13+ for sure with exceptions for more restricted phones for kids who walk to school or whatever. I think we need more child friendly websites again like animal jam and club penguin.

I did perfectly fine without a phone until I was old enough to pay for it myaelf.

As a kid who grew up with a trac phone??? Yes. No ipads, phones, tablets or computer unattended and they will have restrictions

My son got a phone for his 7th birthday but he can only text contacts and download apps that I approve .. I can also track his location
