It's really frustrating constantly having ppl comment on my family's wealth. Like I get it you think I am spoiled, but I am still working minimum wage and pay for most things myself. I hate feeling like the bad guy when I'm not even close to the top 1%

Instead of getting defensive about your privilege, get comfortable with it. Own it. And use it for good!! It's okay to recognize that you're privileged. As you seem to be a good, hardworking person who isn't part of the 1%, you're still one of us!! No one likes hearing a man dismiss his male privilege, no one likes hearing a white person dismiss their white privilege. Same thing with money. Recognize where you stand, and fight for what's good and right with it!!

Commendable that you’ve decided to build your own life a dollar at a time. Time and hard work turns that 0% into 1%

Yeah I never really react poorly but it just kinda sucks when your coworker mentions "oh just get your mom to buy it" when you're just trying to have a normal convo. It just gets annoying after the first 100 times

Yah I had a coworker who shamed me for being on my parent's health insurance I was like, I'm sorry that your mom signed up for fake Bible insurance instead of actual health insurance bc she doesn't love you James, that's not my fault, don't take it out on me 🙄

Yes like why should I feel bad that my mom actually takes care of her kids and supports them
