Not what trauma bonding means btw. But this is commiserating and is also unhealthy if done too early or too often.
I hate when you meet a new friend & they’re already pushing you to open up about your past traumas. Like no I will not be trauma bonding with you thanks

Thanks for this op because this is what i thought trauma bonding meant originally but the meaning was changing for me because so many people use it to mean bonding over sharing traumas in conversation

Yeah and that’s DIFFERENT bc you’re experiencing trauma either TOGETHER or one person is ACTIVELY TRAUMATIZING the other. Thats what trauma-bond initially meant and in a therapeudic setting continues to mean

I’m just frustrated at the prevalence of misusing mental health terms. Some people are still using bipolar to describe moodswings and think they’re correct or woke to do so. Its annoying.
