that’s so weird to me. my mom just wants me to be happy and she lowkey likes when i’m single bc im normally a little more carefree and spend more time focusing on myself. she just wants the best for me yk. i’m sorry your mom is pressuring you, that’s not right of her even if it’s your culture. you do you, ik it’s hard but just push through the criticism and do what’s best for you!!

At the end of the day do what YOU want. It’s your life not hers.

a good mother would do everything she can to keep her daughter from marriage

Might just be because it’s what’s done all this time. It’s a cycle, when you break it or stray from the norm there’s bound to be pushback or confusion. Marriage isn’t bad at 21, just not what you want to do

My mom expects me to have kids…. She tells me how much she can’t wait to have grandkids and when I’m like “but I don’t want to have kids, and if I do I want to adopt.” Her reaction is, “oh honey, you only feel that way right now, wait until you’re older.” I’m 20. I’ve been saying that since I was 16. Trust me, I don’t think I’ll be changing my mind any time soon. (Pregnancy scares me anyways)
