It’s why I respond to Christians who say “Jesus loves you” with “ I know that but his followers don’t”

Because a lot of them don’t actually believe in their religion, they use it as a tool for evil in disguise of faith

as a christian who is not evil i apologize on their behalf as they are not true believers and only use christianity as a crutch to do smth bad. this is why us christians have a bad name, because of the people who manipulate it and use it for bad

The core text is actually incredibly problematic, so it does not advocate for good. It’s just that some genuinely decent people have picked the better elements to try and make it better.

So many people are manipulated into believing misinformation by the basis that their religion relies on blind faith. Some also believe that because they’re Christians and can do penance for their confessions—that everything they do is forgiven, and that means it’s not bad or sinful (even though confession is an admission of guilt)
