I think I have a learning disability or I’m autistic. I feel like I struggle to understand anything and everything. I graduated college with honors and good grades because I turn in all assignments on time. I’m 22 so how does one even go about this?

I am by no means saying that people with a learning disability or autism can’t graduate with honors. I am just stating that if I can do that without any kind of accommodations then is there a point to even do anything about it?

I also feel like once you hit the work force accommodations are nothing like they are in the education system so by getting tested and getting a diagnosis would that even change anything? Idk I’m like not sure where where to go from here tbh

For my general Ed’s I would use Google, quizlet, and ChatGPT. For my major classes it depended. I am a human services major so by testing me on random facts won’t really make or break my future career

I picked my battles and I’m not exactly proud of it but I would rather focus more time on skill based things than knowing how to solve a statics problem

Idk what u mean by skill based thing and why statics is at the other end of the spectrum of skill but if you got good grades and couldn’t understand shit chances are your major is crap and your degree is worthless

So as a human services major skills like communication or listening skills are more beneficial than knowing things like statistics or algebra. Like it’s more beneficial to know how to help someone deal with trauma than it is to know how to solve a stats problem.

I also mean I struggle understanding things in every day life not just in the classroom. Someone has to explain things to me multiple times before I understand it.

No offense but how are you supposed to have listening skills if u can’t understand what you’re heating

So for example, you come to me because you have trauma. I can listen and understand what you are telling me and I can try to help you. Now if you try to teach me how to idk crochet there is a very small chance I will be able to pick up on that skill and learn the new task

And listening skills and how to help someone with a problem comes naturally to me. Throughout college I learned how to develop my current skills. I struggle with completely new things
