Is now on year 7 of being addicted to methadone bc of the doctors/detox/rehab. She was originally bombed with Suboxone (????), then upon trying to get off the Suboxone, she started getting into opiates. For a year. Their solution was to then bomb tf out of her with methadone.

Because healthcare in America is a for-profit business, their number one goal is to profit off of you. Helping you is number two (maybe a distant number two). Please just always keep this in mind. Especially in mental healthcare. Fight for your rights. Do not just blindly follow whatever the doctors say/prescribe. Press them. Do your own research. Know your own mind/body. Demand what you know you need.

It took me 2 years to acquire the meds I need bc they kept trying to prescribe me much heavier, higher-risk drugs. And a WHOLE lot of them. And would not listen to me, or prescribe me the one singular med that I know works with me. FINALLY, a lovely psychiatrist with a functional brain AND a soul listened to me, and prescribed me what I actually needed. That was attempt #6.
