Robert Eggers is becoming one of my favorite directors. He traumatized me as a kid with the witch and I just watched the Northman that film is just as wild. Haven’t seen nosferatu or the lighthouse but they’re next. My boy does goth the right way👏🏽

Yeahh I was so happy that he gave nosferatu a modern rendition when I saw the trailers it seemed like it was exactly my kinda thing. Nosferatus old design was stuck in my head since that on scene in SpongeBob lmao, surprised at myself that I never actually got around to seeing the movie😭

if you have the time / patience for it, I’d highly recommend checking out both the original Nosferatu and the 1979 Herzog adaptation prior to watching the new one! for like, cultural context purposes if nothing else. cause having those reference points in mind is part of what made the Eggers version so enjoyable to me (plus they’re both excellent films)

in fact, feel free to DM me if you need any help tracking down free digital copies of either one 🫡 I’m good with that sort of thing and it’s a resource I like to share
