As someone who lived in a household like that, the kitchen wasn’t really revoked. It was more of a if dinner was served and snacks were out, don’t ask for something else to be made. Especially if counters are wiped and clean, stove wiped and clean and sink is clean and empty and the stove light is on. The kitchen is “closed” but you still go and get a snack just don’t expect someone to make something and dirty it up.
