Wait, is the the radical kind that takes everything at face value or the one that actually does the research for both sides and still comes to that conclusion?

And again on a personal opinion note- I think he has more follow through and commands more respect than our previous administration. Telling Iran to ā€œdon’tā€ (Biden and Harris) vs ā€œwe will bomb the shit of of themā€ are two different things. Trump also isn’t falling of stages… His communication style def needs some work, but I feel more confident in his ability to follow through. Of the two options we had for the Oval Office, I think other foreign leaders take trump more seriously thanBiden/Harris

Can I ask why you still support him?

I’m a moderate and newly interested in politics so i do a lot of looking into things. I think trump is a loudmouth who (like 90% of the capitol) has done vile and disgusting things. I will never support that stuff. But I think a lot (not all) of his political decisions bring us closer to what I would consider strength for the nation. For example- capping insulin prices in the US, capturing Maduro, having biological sex (permanent) carry more weight than the (shifting) social construct of gender

I also have noticed that most of my right wing friends bring research into their arguments and most of my left wing friends’ only argument is he’s a bad person. This could be the sects of R/L that I have as my friends but I’ve also noticed this trend online. I think our generation as a whole has lost the idea that you can support some parts of a politician and hate others.

Alright a lot to unpack here. I'll do my best to address each point you made. Starting with the Insulin point. A simple google search would lead you to this fact (lmk if you want more info).

In regards to the gender argument I'd like to ask you, why exactly you believe in enforcing male-female sex?

See here’s the thing though, PART of Trump isn't in office, ALL OF HIM is. That said, yes some of the policies you favor will come into effect, but that doesn't change the fact that we have a pedo/grapist running the country. He's still the same guy, and his problematic nature hasn't changed, evidenced by the fact that he was still doing fucked up shit not too long ago.

See but there's a reason they were talking and not taking action. We are now at war because of Trump’s decision, which mind you, directly goes against his ā€œno new warsā€ promise, so there goes your ā€œfollow throughā€ argument.

I was thinking about the MFN agreements that he made with the pharmaceutical companies to make sure they charge the same to US consumers as they do to other developed countries. Idk why I was thinking insulin was included but you’re right it’s not.

But if you make empty threats and don’t follow through, people won’t take your words seriously. Iran was building its nuclear facilities and power and although they said it was peaceful, the ā€œdeath to Americaā€ rhetoric in iran says otherwise. When I was saying follow through I meant more with threats against other adversary powers not to the American public.

But I do see your point about follow through on that front. I also just don’t think that it’s possible to say ā€œno new warsā€ and stop Iran from amassing a deadly amount of power. I do not trust Iran’s govt to operate under good faith when a foundation is to spread the Muslim faith with any means necessary and eliminate those that do not align. (I am not against Muslims, i just don’t condone violence to spread religion).

Men and women are biologically different and that fact, like your birthday, can’t be changed. Gender is the socialized difference between M/F. I think government documents should reflect this unchanging identifier not a gender identity. Like being introverted or extroverted, identifying as masc or fem isn’t relevant/ something that should replace biological sex on documents. Also protecting women spaces. A socialized identity shouldn’t grant anyone access to the opposite sex’s changing rooms.

I do not think he is a 100% good person or a pedo should be running the country. But I think it’s a rare day in DC when someone comes that can make good policy AND have a good background. If it’s a choice between that or bad policy + good background, I’ll choose option B with a bad background + good policy and take the win with the policy changes. I really do hope that we have someone with good policy and good background in the next election though.
