Look, this isn’t about defending Jimmy Kimmel. I don’t give a fuck about him as an individual. but the types of comments he made about Charlie Kirk didn’t warrant getting shut down. A lot of why this situation is so fucked comes down to the paradox of tolerance- if you’re unfamiliar, you should look it up.

So I’m guessing you didn’t bother researching the paradox of tolerance. I’m all about free speech, and yes, I also believe freedom of speech does not mean freedom from the consequences. But those consequences are deserved when that speech is used to spread hatred or make the world a worse place. What Kimmel said was just calling out the truth— it didn’t hurt anyone except the fragile conservative snowflakes who called for his cancellation m.

You are aware that Kimmel didn’t say ANYTHING celebrating Kirk’s death, right? Because I’d totally agree with you if he had— freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences. But no, what he said was that MAGA is doing everything they can to capitalize on Kirk’s death. He didn’t say anything celebrating Kirk’s death.
