well that’s your lived experience, you’re only one person and some areas have genuine struggles with the students, i’ve had classmates who genuinely did not care because of their home situations and struggles, it’s not the teachers fault in every circumstance, sometimes it is but not always
it’s not the students fault, it’s the system and what their home life is like, if a student gave up it’s because the system failed them in my perspective, children shouldn’t be blamed and the educators who are genuinely trying but overworked and underpaid shouldn’t be blamed either
we’re not talking about abroad we’re talking about here and now in america, with students who’s parents never took the time to teach them how to behave or respect adults or exist without a screen in front of them. which is like 90% of them now. obviously your grandfather and mother didn’t have that problem because it wasn’t like that back then
*failure of the parents. Teachers give students the material and teach it but if the parents aren’t enforcing/encouraging anything outside of the classroom and the student isn’t doing anything, there’s not much a teacher can do. Their job isn’t to make sure they are doing it at home and practicing, that’s the parents job.
