It's bc if they had a girl best friend they'd cheat It's all projection I think ppl moreso assume your guy bestie is gonna try to get you to cheat or leave your bf for him. And they're thinking through the male lens of 'If I had a female bestie and she did that, I wouldn't even think twice!' Just like how they think girls go out to clubs/bars for male attention/to plot on men. They don't realize that we are not at all the same when it comes to that stuff.
