The tests are corrupt. In the 60s, wealthy family would hire “tutors” who knew the answer keys and guide the students to focus what’s actually on the test and ignore the test without telling the student. Today’s world is much worse with cheating rings that basically continue on to the work place with Adderall abuse.

ok well they do matter if you want to get into a competitive school. ik in recent years they went test optional but it’s still a better application if you can show good test scores. also many scholarships and memberships to honors programs depends on it too 🤷‍♀️
