AITA: I yelled at my bf of 4 years (we live together) and told him to let me cope how I cope. Context in comments. My coping looks like I’m a loser of a gf but im sober 3 years off of drugs and alive after a dangerous situation.

Context/TW: My parent got diagnosed with pretty serious brain cancer 3 days ago. My bf and I live together. After work I’m silent, I just play video games and smoke 1-3x before bed. I’ve been clean off of hard drugs used to cope in the past, and an attempt. My bf got upset at me for being quiet after work over the past few days and I snapped

He was visibly upset in body language and in speaking terms. Short and withdrawn. I finally asked him and he opened up pretty quickly after I noticed his body language,

More context: I snapped at him in a raised voice, not fully yelling. I told him exactly that and pointed out that I’m trying so hard to keep it together for him and my family. I’m wondering if maybe I was inconsiderate, bc what if he needed someone too? But also, holy shit I needed someone too.
