Same I’ve said it since I started working full-time: I will never work on my birthday. If I don’t get it off then I’m calling out. I would rather do nothing than stress on my special day.

it’s my preferred way of life going on a bday trip is better than doing stuff on my bday in town for me personally

I take a trip either close to or on but even if the trip is before or after, the day of is still off Last year I was in New York for 5 days This year I will be in Kentucky and Tennessee for 10 days total

I’m grown enough to not care but lucky enough my birthday is in the middle of summer and take my vacation that week (double benefit of my partner’s birthday is literally the day after mine, hence why we always try to make our vacation that week)
