I agree with #1. A partnership is like being in a paddle boat. You’ll only go in circles if one person is doing all the work.

Sounds to me like he’s barely giving you the bare minimum. I don’t know you but I do know that everyone deserves a partner that wants to show effort no matter if it’s “convenient” or not because they care about you and they love you. My suggestion is do not settle for less than what you deserve.
