i think a lot of people have bad experiences w christianity bc the institution of it has used asceticism among other things to uphold discriminatory power structures; in many ways, the acts of certain christians have made repression-fueled bigotry synonymous w their religion. however i don’t necessarily think the faith itself has to represent that, esp if that faith becomes less centralized around a system and more personal. but i’m also atheist so there’s a lot i don’t get

absolutely to everything you said. I wouldn't classify myself as a religious person but I always wondered how hardcore Christians perceived someone having an identity that isn't all about religion is lukewarm and dangerous. I think true belief and faith is being you, not eradicating yourself, and still living. I think society would be better as a whole if Christianity or any religion was just taken as something to make of our own especially in today’s world. There's a truth in all religions -

Especially in Christianity and I feel like how it's represented and how it's been used isn't its authentic truth
