When you really think about it, sexual perversions are the root cause of A LOT of problems. I mean a lot. Before you argue, think about it…

Being a trans person I feel like I can’t interact with children because so many people have some kind of misinterpretation of what it means to be trans.

eh, I feel like this framing unnecessarily demonizes people whose perversions are explored consensually. generalized sex-negativity isn’t the answer, repression leads to damaging outcomes too

Thank you. Like I get sex is part of life obviously lol. But a lot of drama, a lot of lives have been ruined, lost and utterly destroyed simply because a significant amount of people cannot tame their lustful desires. I truly understand now how “lust” is one of the seven deadly sins..

Bleh bleh bleh. It’s okay if you don’t agree lmao. The intent of my statement is not to “demonize”, neither is it to “generalize sex negativity”. Read into it what you will fam. Someone will state “Ohhh I love letter A so much” and some of yall will frame it as “That’s not fair to the other letters, why do you HATE B-Z????” Chill😂😂😭

well no, this isn’t a “pancakes vs waffles” type reply at all—your post was about the evils of “sexual perversion”, a phrase which obviously also refers to kinks & fetishes that aren’t innately harmful

I mean kinks and fetishes are something you need to very deeply consider. A lot of them can be slightly harmful if the person experiencing it doesn’t fully understand. And turning kinks into commonplace can cause issues. Like a little kid calling their parents mommy or daddy, that’s been sexualized by mainstream kinks.

? I’m agreeing with you. People have sexualized my identity to the point I can’t interact with kids without someone giving me a weird look.

Precisely my point. Your criticism is not objective because you are using your OWN verbiage. I said sexual perversions are the root cause of a lot of problems. My post is not about the “evils of perversion”. I will say that some kinks and fetishes are harmful. Not all fetishes are harmless. Some of them are breeding grounds for creeps and predators. It’s a slippery slope(obv not pure evil). I stand on the fact that in search of sexual gratification, a lot of people do very bad things😂

notice that I wasn’t arguing in favor of making kink a broadly mainstream-normalized thing either… there’s room for a sensible middle ground. all I’m saying is that posing “sexual perversion” as an innately destructive thing is counterproductive as well

I think you’re looking a little too far into it. They were just saying that the sexualization of everything is bad. Which it is. A lot of issues have been caused by over sexualizing life.

Exactly. I never stated it is purely evil lmao. Almost every single thing on this earth has both Pros and Cons. Or a mixture of both things. Rarely would you see something that is PURE GOOD or PURE EVIL or PURELY REPUBLICAN (lol). Also, a lot of kinks can progress into sexual depravity. I mean doesn’t evil have to start from somewhere?? Yall don’t think “Stepmom and stepson” fantasy porn can progress into something sinister if someone obsesses and watches it over a period of time?😂

I’m thinking more something aimed towards kids becomes suddenly sexualized for no reason. Like Roblox porn and shit like that. When people oversexualize non sexual characters, games, and media it reaches kids and they obviously shouldn’t be seeing that.

don’t play obtuse, your post is a vague generalization about sexual perversion being the root cause of a great deal of harm. generalizations like that are a slippery slope as well—surely you realize we live in a culture where queer sex acts are still more likely to be categorized as “perverse” compared to their hetero counterparts?

I didn’t say anything about grammar in the first place. but if you confidently see an interest in kink as being something deserving of wariness, there isn’t really any conversation for us to have

Interest in kink is absolutely something to be wary of. You don’t need to entirely cast it off but you absolutely need to be cautious in navigating kinks. It can be incredibly rewarding as well as very damaging. I’m saying this as someone who has honestly too much experience with kink. You NEED to be careful or you will get hurt/hurt someone.

If mfs actually reading my comments they’ll understand all I’m saying is NOT ALL SEXUAL FETISHES ARE HEALTHY AND SEEKING CONSTANT SEXUAL GRATIFICATION LEAD TO LOTS OF PROBLEMS FOR LOTS OF PEOPLE. jesus christ. I didn’t say OP was being queerphobic, I was giving a clear example of innocuous sexual behaviors being labeled as “perversion”, in service of my argument that it’s counterproductive to make vague statements condemning “sexual perversion” rather than naming the actual harm being done. reading comprehension please

I don’t even know how someone doesn’t realize that some sexual kinks NEED some sort of caution or wariness. Where do yall think pedophiles start from? Where do yall think bestiality starts from? Where do yall think sexual torture and all manners of sexual abuse stems from?? Don’t yall realize most perpetrators often STRUGGLED with diffferent forms of porn addictions?? The evidence is all there and numerous abusers have confirmed it!! Even Ted Bundy confessed it as well😂

you need to be cautious navigating sexual spaces in general, that should be a given. someone who’s only into vanilla sex isn’t any less likely to be a rapist than someone who has a fetish, that’s what I’m saying re: “wariness”

You’re not getting what I’m saying. I mean someone can be fully consenting to a situation, and not understand until later that what they were doing was bad and self destructive. You need to understand why you have a kink before you put it into practice.

Another one of my points. I never made an argument that people who have fetishes are more likely to be rapist. if your original post had been “not all sexual fetishes are healthy, and seeking constant sexual gratification leads to lots of problems for lots of people” I would have been in total agreement. hopefully in the future you can work on 1) saying what you mean and 2) having the self-awareness to say “my bad, I didn’t phrase that very well” when you fail to do so, rather than yapping in circles defensively just because you don’t like criticism

okay, fair enough, I agree that the roots of a kink should be analyzed rather than acted-on on a whim out of pure instinct. please recognize that that’s different from being wary of other people based on the knowledge that they have sexual interests which could be described as “perverse”

Tbh I think when they said perverse they more meant non sexual things being sexualized. Like kids games, or family dynamics, or certain professions. that kinda thing.

bro the entire point I’ve been making this whole time is that by definition And by popular usage, “perversion” refers to a hell of a lot of identities and behaviors beyond just harmful things. hence the wording of the post is counterproductive because “perversion” Doesn’t just mean “non-sexual things being sexualized”. you get it now?
