what’s the point of paying taxes if it doesn’t go to programs that make my community better, help out my neighbors, and even support me if i fall on hard times in this shit economy

You know what happens when people get too desperate for basic survival like food? They could turn to crime and make ALL of our lives worse in one way or the worst ways. Idk about you but I don’t want poor starving people in the streets costing millions in services such as EMS, law enforcement, city maintenance, and lost economic potential from driving away business and customers. And I used those examples involving capitalism instead of respecting other humans since you sounded selfish rn.
