My BFs Mom criticised me when she stayed over bc I wash my clothes every time I wear them even if it’s just for one day. She says I’m wasting my money & if they’re not visibly dirty they should just go back in the closet but I was brought up this way?

You are not alone. I only wear jeans more than once without washing. Even then I won’t put them directly back in the drawer with other freshly clean jeans.

Like if I’m going out to the supermarket, possibly kneeling down on the floor, sitting on public transport/benches etc it just doesn’t feel hygienic to me to put something that’s touched all that back in with my clean clothes?
