Sometimes I see people who do that even if they DO understand how the app works because they’re convinced they can sus out the first OP from vibes alone even if it’s a completely different post. It’s so goddamn stupid.

Like they know that anyone can quote post but they’ll get in DMs/comments and insist that the person who quote posted is secretly the OP pretending to be someone else. I’ve seen people be like “the speech patterns are the same! It’s totally them!” Because they use the same amount of fucking commas or something. It’s weird as shit.

I once got in an argument with someone accusing OP (who was not me, but I love nosing in to shit so I defended them) of harassing women in DMs. And I was like “that’s very concerning, can you show proof of that?” And then they showed me screenshots of DMs from an entirely different post. Except the DMs were on HERE, so it didn’t have names, it just said “them” “me” like always.

And I was like “hey those messages are gross but you have no proof those are the same person whatsoever, these are completely different posts, the guy in DMs didn’t even claim he was this guy you’re accusing.” And their defense was “it’s obvious. The speech patterns are the same. The timing is suspicious.” Timing?? What timing?? I get weird DMs every day, that doesn’t mean the dude I just talked to on a different post is the one harassing me???
