I mean we've already had SO long to ponder the potential 'personhood' of sentient technology and even what being a 'person' is After decades upon decades upon decades of extensive media and such of this exact situation I'm personally in the camp that sentience equals personhood, and any sentient being is a person. Even a dog, like a hella aware dog is a person. Any sentient being matters. Or maybe I just played Detroit Become Human one too many times lmao
