Why can’t people be normal around people with SH scars, especially on the internet? Can I just exist? Must I constantly cover that part of me and my history? Tip: if you see someone with scars online or irl, just don’t bring it up. It’s that easy.

That’s weird. Ignoring them and not outwardly acting disgusted is one thing, but complimenting them? What?

He's not a random stranger. He asked me what were they and then told me they look cool

That’s still strange. They don’t represent anything good. They’re not cool and don’t look cool. It’d be one thing if he complimented your strength in getting past that time or recovery or something. But complimenting the physical appearance is strange.

Scars do look pretty badass. If this person has no problem with being complimented then neither should you 🤷♀️

You’re romanticizing self harm and mutilated skin but sure go ahead.
