if the breakup happened bc of an incompatibility & the relationship lasted a while, a lot of people won’t want to see that person again bc of the pain of being *just* off from a great relationship. seeing that person again can also mess up future relationships if either of you ever think about getting back together

ik people who can’t see their exes bc of this reason & it’s perfectly valid. personally, if we make good friends and we broke up mutually (aka both acknowledging that a relationship is impossible), then hell yeah I’m staying friends with them. still friends with two of my exes, one of them is a best friend
