i made conversation while doing the hobby. for ex. chatting at the bouldering lounge with people who come to the social events. or solo queuing in games and chatting with the people who i was put in a match with/meeting up with people i met in twitch chats. baking, i met someone at a baking event at a restaurant and she invited me over to make focaccia. running, you'll meet someone if u run the same route often or do a run club. poker, someone at school saw me post playing and asked to play
