Also cultural taboos are taboos but they apply to *you* and other people in your culture. If Muslims and Jews can tolerate other people eating pork and Indians can tolerate other people eating beef you can tolerate people eating dogs even if you yourself would never try that. Also I’m not talking about issues of people kidnapping pets to eat or animal abuse. Those, while big issues, are separate issues and not exclusive to eating dogs. Criticizing those are more than valid
